Calzoni Denison
Radial piston motor
A hydraulic motor converts the pressure energy of the pressure medium into rotational kinetic energy. In the process, the torque is proportional to the hydraulic pressure but the rotational speed is proportional to the flow rate. The torque can therefore be adjusted independently of the rotational speed. A fundamental characteristic of these motors is their extremely high starting torque.
In contrast to radial motors, radial piston motors do not have a real connecting rod, but only swivelling thrust pieces, which are hydrostatically supported. This allows a particularly high degree of efficiency to be achieved while, at the same time, minimising internal friction and therefore wear and tear.
Due to their unique design, Calzoni Denison motors are clearly superior to other motors of the same performance class in terms of both weight and size. Friction and leakage losses are kept to a minimum by means of careful material selection and design optimisation. Thanks to the special design, the cylinder can expand and contract only linearly, thereby preventing the occurrence of shear forces. This eliminates wear and tear on moving parts and lateral forces at the cylinder joints. Calzoni's design is therefore particularly low-maintenance, lightweight and compact.
Motors with fixed displacement
Motors of the MR / MRE / MRA series have a fixed displacement from 33cc to 8,200cc. The design includes 5 pistons and achieves a starting torque of 90-95% at an efficiency of up to 96%.
The MRT / MRTE / MRTF /MRTA series have a fixed displacement of 7,100cc to 23,033cc. The motors of these series are equipped with 10 and 14 pistons in a two-row design and achieve a starting torque of up to 91%.
Motors with dual or variable displacement
The Calzoni Denison MRD / MRDE / MRDA series have a dual displacement of 300cc to 8,200cc. Dual displacement is achieved via the eccentrically mounted cam disc, which is free to move radially and can change its eccentricity. A valve in the drive shaft allows the displacement to be changed step-by-step and to be adjusted even at full load operation.
The MRV / MRVE / MRVA series have a variable displacement of 450cc to 8,200cc. Similar to the MRD / MRDE / MDA series, the displacement can be adjusted thanks to an eccentrically mounted cam disc, which is free to move radially and can change its eccentricity. The radial movement is controlled by the hydraulic cylinders and the valve in the drive shaft. The displacement can be adjusted even under full load.
